As cofounder and Executive Director of Equality Charter School in the Bronx, New York, Caitlin Franco oversees the academic, personal, and social growth of middle and high school students. Caitlin Franco leads a program that combines individualized instruction, career and college guidance, and socioemotional support to help each student become ready for college and career. Since opening the school in 2009, Ms. Franco has helped hundreds of students envision and work toward meaningful postsecondary pursuits.
Caitlin Franco comes to her leadership role at Equality Charter School following service as an English and elective teacher at Bronx Leadership Academy II, where she coordinated the College Now, Senior Credit Recovery, and No Senior Left Behind programs. Ms. Franco also served as a teacher and positive behavior intervention coach at Opportunity Charter School, which she joined shortly after receiving her Master of Education degree in Education Leadership from Harvard University.
Caitlin Franco received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English education from Stony Brook University in New York, where she made the dean’s list every semester. Ms. Franco also earned membership in Sigma Beta, Stony Brook University’s honor society, and in the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the oldest liberal arts and sciences honor society in the United States..
